Dr. Cheryl's Background
Cheryl is the owner and founder of The Cheryl Matschek Company, Inc., Soaring Horizons® and Princess Publishing. She has addressed thousands of people throughout the world since beginning her professional speaking and training career in 1979.
Cheryl has a Ph.D. in Natural Health, Clinical Nutrition and Iridology; a Master's degree in Behavioral Science; a Master's in Herbology; and a Bachelor's in Psychology. Currently she is the President of the International Iridology Practitioners Association and a member of the National Speakers Association and the International Speakers Association.
Cheryl's sales and sales management experience dates back to 1973 when she entered a predominantly male industry as a life insurance agent with the New York Life Insurance Company. Within the first year, at the age of 25, she qualified for the Million Dollar Roundtable of the National Association of Life Underwriters and the Women's Leaders Roundtable. In 1976 she became one of five women in sales management in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico for the same company. Prior to entering sales and then sales management, Cheryl's diverse background included several years in the medical, dental, law enforcement, legal and grocery wholesale fields.
In addition to her speaking career, in the mid-90's Cheryl developed a natural health practice which she continues today. Although the demands of her speaking career and natural health practice are many, Cheryl pays attention to balance in her life. She and her husband, J. Norman Matschek (a cosmetic and family dentist in the Portland, Oregon area) enjoy their time together growing spiritually and actively participating in their church, traveling, reading, golfing, relaxing…to remain spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically fit.
They also enjoy their little canine companions, Holly (a black miniature schnauzer) and Sunshine (a black and silver miniature schnauzer) who go with them everywhere they possibly can!
